Have you ever noticed how parents can go from the most wonderful people in the world to totally embarrassing in three seconds? How children can go from dancing whirls of energy to squidgy, putty curled up in your lap within a blink of an eye?
Families swirl and churn around each other, then they are still and silent and soft. They are forever changing every nano second. But there is a constance that threads them together. A thread made up of the comfortable knowledge of knowing where each other is without looking up. A thread of understanding built only through love and inner strength. A thread for all intents and purposes is impossible to break.
So to try and photograph all the movement, all the crazy as well as to photograph that invisible thread is always the aim. For families to openly share their own unique churning is beautiful.
Michelle and James are beautiful, which is a word I use that is bigger than it’s meaning.
