Breakout’s monthly showcase for new and breaking acts staged by Music Week Magazine in conjunction with All Night Long Promotions, throws a spotlight on unsigned and newly-signed acts – those creating a buzz in A&R circles. It gives the music industry and the public a first glance of up-and-coming talent.
June’s Music Week Breakout event took place in Camden, London last night (Wednesday, June 13) with over 700 people streaming through the doors. RCA signing Aiden Grimshaw impressed the London crowd with a set that included songs from his forthcoming album, Misty Eye.
Other standout performances came from Fiction-affiliated Australian group Last Dinosaurs, girl group Poppy & The Jezabels and theatrical rockers [ME].
Elsewhere, PPL curated the always-popular acoustic ‘stables’ – where acts get to show off their songs in a stripped down setting. Hotly-tipped urban act Lady Leshurr played to a packed crowd.
